PRELOΔD

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 2026 · Contact: preloadbook@gmail.com

🔒 Designed for your privacy

Short version: Your journal entries, practice data, and personal reflections stay on your device by default. If you connect Google, a backup is stored in your own private Google Drive folder that only PRELOΔD can access. We do not sell data. We do not run ads. We do not share your content with third parties.

1. What We Collect

Stored only on your device (localStorage)

None of this data is transmitted to PRELOΔD servers unless you explicitly use the Google Drive sync or research study features.

A note on the assessments above. PERMA, PSS-10, GAD-7, and PHQ-9 are self-report questionnaires offered here for your own reflection. They are not a diagnosis, and neither is anything else in this app. PRELOΔD is for educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care. Always consult your physician or a qualified provider about any medical or mental-health concern.

If you are in crisis: In the United States, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available at 988, by call or text. The Crisis Text Line is available by texting HOME to 741741. Your physician, your bishop, your therapist, or a trusted person in your life is the right first call. Make it.

Google Account (optional, if you connect)

If you choose to connect Google, we request access to:

Your Google OAuth access token is stored in your browser’s localStorage and sessionStorage. It is never transmitted to PRELOΔD servers.

AI Guide usage (optional)

When you use the AI Guide, your conversation and a summary of your progress context (day number, primary challenge, tool usage counts) are sent to Google Gemini via the Gemini API. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Your journal entry text is never included in AI requests.

If you use the shared free proxy (preload-proxy.preloadbook.workers.dev), requests pass through our Cloudflare Worker. No conversation content is logged or stored by us.

Research study (opt-in only)

If you voluntarily enroll in the PRELOΔD effectiveness study, we collect:

We never collect journal content, prayer intentions, specific reflection text, or any personally identifiable information through the research system.

Subscription and payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. PRELOΔD never sees or stores your payment card information. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment processing: stripe.com/privacy. We receive only a subscription status (active/inactive) linked to your anonymous client reference ID.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

3. Google Drive — How Your Data Is Protected

When Drive sync is enabled:

You can disconnect Google Drive at any time in Profile → Sync. You can delete all Drive files associated with PRELOΔD using the "Delete all Drive files" button in the same section.

4. Your Rights and Controls

5. Data Retention

Local data persists until you clear your browser storage or use the Reset All Data function. Drive data persists until you delete it. Research data (anonymised aggregate scores only) may be retained for up to 5 years for longitudinal analysis.

6. Children and Minors

The Service is not intended for, and may not be used by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly; a parent or guardian who believes we hold information about a child under 13 should contact us at the address in the Contact section below and we will remove it.

Users aged 13 to 17 may use the Service only with the verifiable consent and ongoing supervision of a parent or legal guardian, as required by our Terms of Service. That parent or guardian should review this policy before the minor begins, and remains responsible for the minor’s use of the Service.

The application does not require an account, email address, or any identifying information to function, and by default all data remains on the device. Optional features that transmit data off the device — Google Drive backup, the AI Guide, and research data submission — should be enabled for a minor only with parental knowledge and consent.

The self-report screening questionnaires offered within the Service (PHQ-9 and GAD-7) are intended for adults. They are not a diagnosis, and a user under 18 should complete them only with the knowledge of a parent or guardian and discuss the results with a qualified provider.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will post updates to this page and note the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
